SZU Law School Holds Cadre Conference

On the afternoon of April 7, 2023, the cadre conference of the Law School was convened in Conference Room 417 of Minglv Building on Lihu Campus, as per the school's arrangement. Mao Junfa, Academician and President of the school, and Wang Zhizhong, Director of the Organization Department of the School Party Committee, were in attendance. Members of the leadership team, the Party Committee, and the Discipline Inspection Committee of the school, along with heads of internal agencies, were also present. The meeting was presided over by Ma Wenze, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school.


Wang announced the decision on SZU cadre appointments and dismissals: Xiong Wei as Dean of the Law School; Lin Jilin as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School; Zhou Wei, Chen Meng, Ye Haibo, and Song Xuguang as Vice Deans of the Law School. Brief introductions about the aforementioned comrades were provided.


Former Dean of the School of Law, Liu Jun, and Deputy Secretary Ye Xing delivered their respective departing speeches. Liu fondly recalled his experiences at the school, expressing gratitude to the leaders and colleagues for their trust and support. He concluded by extending sincere wishes for success to Xiong and the new leadership team. Ye expressed similar sentiments, stating his everlasting fondness for the School and his hopes for its continuous improvement.


Xiong expressed gratitude to the university and the School of Law for their trust, emphasizing the school's advantageous position within SZU and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He proposed utilizing policy advantages for further development, optimizing internal management, strengthening academic disciplines and faculty, developing alumni resources, and aligning with the "14th Five-Year Plan" for a promising future. He stressed the importance of the school's doctoral degree program declaration, emphasizing collective effort towards this goal and his commitment to integrity in leadership.


Lin, Zhou, and Chen followed with speeches, pledging adherence to fundamental principles, determination to contribute to the school's long-term development under the correct leadership, and maintaining gratitude and service-oriented attitudes.


Ma expressed gratitude to the school for its attention and support, welcoming Xiong and Lin. He emphasized the leadership team's responsibility in providing organizational support for the school's high-standard construction and high-quality development, focusing on development, rule establishment, and fostering a united and harmonious internal environment.


In his concluding speech, Mao expressed gratitude and welcomed Dean Xiong's arrival, highlighting city leaders' concern for SZU's law discipline and Law School development. He expressed confidence in the school's future, emphasizing party building, team strengthening, unity around the 14th Five-Year Plan, and faculty vitality as priorities for achieving significant milestones in the school's history. He expressed belief in the faculty's ability to contribute to Shenzhen's rule of law construction and the nation's legal development.


Following the meeting, the new team held a retreat to organize and deploy recent work. Ma emphasized discipline, communication, dedication, and tenacity, while Xiong stressed collective resolution, service-oriented focus, adherence to norms, and teamwork for the school's advancement.
